Highly recommended and one of my personal favorites!" - Eileen, WA "A super-easy transaction -- even though I was doing this as an internet transaction when I called the store with a question they were quick to help and friendly to boot. We're back from Houston's International Quilt Market. It is the largest show for fabric in the whole country, maybe even the whole world. Going to this show each year is by far the most favorite part of my job as assistant buyer at Hart's Fabric. We are sooo excited about all the new fresh fabrics that are coming out! I was overwhelmed with inspiration and I can't wait till we get these fabrics in the shop so I can get to sewing. I went a little crazy and took over 200 pictures at the trade show, I couldn't help myself everything was so beautifully displayed. Plus I wanted to share it with you since only vendors and buyers are allowed in the show. I have so many personal favorites from the trade show that I will have to break it up into several blog posts. So come visit back soon for more eye candy and I hope you get as inspired as I am!
Anna Maria Horner blew me away!!! She came out with flannel, cotton voile prints and solids, dobby dots prints, oilcloth prints, and 3 new patterns. Did I mention she's coming out with a book too! It is called Handmade Beginnings, which includes 24 projects to welcome the baby. We pre-ordered it but it won't be coming out till May 2010. Here are her 3 new fabulous patterns. Evening Empire Dress, Roundabout Dress and Slip, and Sidewalk Satchel. These patterns will be available early December. Folksy Flannel 16 baby soft flannels. This wonderful collection is perfect for pajamas, blankets, soft toys and more. Little Folks Dobby dots are available in 4 prints and 8 solids. See the curtain panel hanging in the picture. That print is called the "square dance" and two square sizes are printed on the same fabric. This makes it easy to create beautiful pillows, baby dress panels, quilt blocks and more! These fabrics are printed on the finest 54" cotton voile and have a buttery soft feel and a gorgeous drape. We went crazy and bought the whole collection! I had a chance to chat with Anna Maria and she told me she came from a fashion background and it would makes her cringe to make clothes out of standard cotton broadcloth, which inspired her to create a collection that could be used to make beautiful clothing. If you loved this collection check out Anna Maria's blog. This little cutie has a new dress sewn by her mom Tina, who works in our retail shop. Isabel likes the cheerful orange, red and yellow colors of this fabric from Sandy Klopp's 'snippets' line. Tina like this fabric because it comes pre-quilted and it will be keeping Isabel warm in these autmn months. Also, the reverse side is a fun orange on white polka-dot. This made the dress completely reversable; a real two-for-one dress! Tina used 'easy kids' Newlook 6504 "I think it took about two hours from start to finish, including cutting out the pattern and finishing the seams with bias tape. Very satisfying!"Make one for your little pumpkin this month and keep her warm. Labels: dress sewing newlook 6504 pre-quilted american jane snippets by: Harts Fabric 0 Comments

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This raincoat is too cute for words!!! Miss Jessie Jane at the shop made this fabulous and functional raincoat out of navy colored waterproof fabric. It is SUPER lightweight, like a windbreaker jacket. She used Mcall's pattern 5525 and added pipping to trim the collar and back tie. She made her own covered buttons with the same floral fabric as the pipping. Hope this brings you some fall inspiration for those rainy days! Don't forget to upload pics of your projects you have made with fabric from our shop. You could win a gift certificate if you are featured on our blog. Upload pics here!
